Carousel Posts
As a graphic design intern for Bookstr, I had the honor of creating social media posts inspired by the articles that the lovely writers wrote.
Spectacular Summer Movies Great for Bookish Individuals
This carousel was a lot of fun. I wanted to achieve a laid-back summer feel in the graphics to match the article's content. It took a bit of iteration to come up with a way to incorporate the movie stills, book, author, and director information, as well as the article blurb. This post was a big hit both within the company and on social media. The idea of using a movie clapper may be applied to future projects.

8 Monumental Immigrant Tales That Should Be On Your TBR
This project was eye-opening. I realized I am not typically exposed to these types of books, and these books are powerful and essential.
During the research phase, I discovered that butterflies are associated with immigrants due to their migratory nature. I included an image of Lady Liberty because she is also associated with immigrants.
I chose bright, attention-grabbing colors (blue, yellow, and orange) for this so people would stop and read.

12 August Fiction Releases To Add To Your TBR Right Now
August reminds me of back-to-school and journaling. I had a lot of fun pretending to make a journal entry for each carousel.
I created the star stickers so that they would be attention-grabbing and fit with the journal theme I was going for.

Topical Dates
Topical Dates are social media posts inspired by important dates in the month.
Islamic New Year Post
As a Muslim, it meant a lot to work on this topic. Representation matters, and being included in the topical posts was a great honor.
Since it is for New Year's, I found a quote from the Qur'an that is focused on the future. The idea was for it to feel as if a person is looking through the archway into the better days that lie ahead.

1984 by George Orwell Publishing Date
This graphic is so simplistic, but I feel as if it captures the feeling of being watched/surveilled very well. I enjoyed getting to use textures and displacement maps on this project.

World Dracula Day
I love spooky things, so I jumped on the chance to create this. I got to use the threshold effect, textures, and displacement maps which I think makes the graphic feel more real.
