This poster is inspired by Mika Zibanejad, #93, from the New York Rangers.
The poster has multiple textures laid on top, as well as a displacement map, to give it a scanned/printed feel.

Design Rationale

I wanted to design something relevant to who he is as a person.
He is from Sweden, and he has Persian roots.
I used the Swedish National Ice Hockey Team logo, which features three crowns, to represent the times he's played there and his roots.
I added his name, written in Arabic, as a nod to his Persian heritage.
There's also a story about why he chose the number 93 underneath it.
He is not only a hockey player but also a DJ.
He has four songs on his Spotify, so I included those, the year it came out, and the number of streams.

The image of Madison Square Garden is included since it is the home arena of the New York Rangers.
His jersey is added next to the story of why he is #93.
I chose to add the New York Rangers Lady Liberty logo because the sharpness of the crown fits well within the design. Her face is stoic, which contrasts with two of Mika's images that look happy.
The main image shows Mika looking off to the left in concentration. I wanted to choose an image where the stick was above him so the stick could surpass the borders. I also wanted him to be looking left so the other two images would be looking toward him.
The two remaining images show Mika looking right and smiling. One is paired with the words, "I think you can tell by my face how happy I am to be here," a quote from Mika. I added that after Madison Square Garden, he's happy to be in New York playing in the Garden.
